So… I haven’t been on here in weeks and it’s lame, I know. The main reason is I’ve been totally swamped with a daily Billboard.com feature that took its toll on my free time and occasionally, my sanity. I set out to find a band/musician who is a fan of each MLB team (there’s 30) to talk about their team in a preview of the 2014 season. I got through 18 of them. Might do a couple more if any leads come through in the waning days of April (Ben Gibbard PLEASE talk to me about the Seattle Mariners). Below, is my beloved Jimmy Eat World with my favorite team, the currently very shitty, in-need-of-complete-rebuilding Arizona Diamondbacks. At any rate, here are all of them:

FKA twigs is finally ready for the stage. Last night the R&B experimentalist emerged from her lair of mystery to mesmerize a small audience at a converted West Village strip club. It was a night of nervous starts, uncharted territory and warped, cavernous R&B songs with more dance moves than discernible lyrics. But when it was over, the newcomer had reached the end of her first North American tour with burgeoning confidence….
The most #SXSW thing ever: dude charging his phone on the same powerstrip the band has their instruments plugged into
Here it is... my 4-day diary of the pleasantly-angst ridden Parahoy! extravaganza. This link is for day 4, but all of it is in there.
Pop Punk’s Not Dead. Me interviewing New Found Glory (Chad + Jordan) onboard the Parahoy! cruise. What a trip. I’ll post more from this tomorrow.
Old homie on the plane next to me saw me reading Questlove’s “Mo Meta Blues” today and on the spot asked me what “meta” means. Best I could do was “something that’s self-referential.” Hmm. Some things I’m better at defining by just giving a bunch of examples.
If you ever wanted to know which members of the Cyrus family smoke weed…
Looked back on some Morrissey today for Billboard.
